FC Edmonton News Release

Edmonton AB (April 26, 2013) - No longer the new kids on the block, the San Antonio Scorpions head up north to Edmonton for the first time this season on Sunday April 28 for a 2pm MT kick off.

The Scorpions had a week off during the NASL week three's matches to reflect on their 0-1-1 record, most recently losing 2-0 to Tampa Bay. While the Eddies will be playing their third game in eight days, having faced Canada's elite in the Amway Canadian Championship versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a suspect 3-2 loss on Wednesday.

Having never won against the Scorpions, coach Colin Miller is keen to get his side back on track after a disheartening loss mid-week.

"A lot of what I've heard is that this team played their best game in three years on Wednesday night," says Miller. "(The team) are excited and ready to play on Sunday in front of a home crowd. The energy and atmosphere is something that everyone is looking forward to."

Former Scorpion Wes Knight will be unavailable for this first match-up due to a foot injury during last week's 2-0 loss to Minnesota United FC.

Home fans can look forward to seeing the progress made for the much anticipated stand addition to the East side of Clarke. Although they won't be up for the first match of the season due to a lengthy weather delay, if everything goes according to plan, seat installation starts Monday.

The Scorpions are no strangers to improved facilities as their new home - Toyota Field - opened just in time for the season to start.

The game will be live streamed off of www.fcedmonton.com and broadcast on Team 1260. Tickets are on sale at fcedmonton.com. Kick off at 2:00p.m MT.
