Three Things You Need to Know

1.) Front Runners- The Allen Americans (27-10-8, 62 points) settled things down over the weekend winning on Friday against Missouri and on Sunday in Tulsa. The Americans four-point weekend kept them atop the Berry Conference leading both the Wichita Thunder (27-14-5, 59 points) and the Fort Worth Brahmas (27-15-5, 59 points) by three points. Allen continues to earn points garnering as least one point in 21 of their last 26 games (14-5-7). Of those 26 games, 19 of them have been decided by one goal with Allen going 15-7-8 in those close contests. Wichita has earned points in eight straight games going 6-0-2 over that stretch. The Thunder has welcomed forward Matt Robinson back (signed with the team on Jan. 11) who has connected for seven goals and seven assists in 11 games. Robinson has scored three game winning goals in his 11 games this season and led the CHL with 10 GWG's last season. The Brahmas are 10-2-1 in their last 13 games and have won four straight road games. Fort Worth has allowed just 14 goals over their last seven contests.

2.) Busy Tuesday- There are five games on a full slate for Tuesday night with several big contests. Two of the hottest teams will square off in Prescott Valley as the Fort Worth Brahmas (27-15-5) take on the Arizona Sundogs (23-21-4) in the first of back-to-back games. Fort Worth is 3-0 on their current five-game road trip that concludes in Arizona and the Sundogs are 5-1 over their last six games. In Tulsa, the Oilers will look to avenge Sunday's 5-1 loss against Allen when they meet the Americans again. Wichita travels to Rapid City to meet the Rush (the Thunder has won four of the seven head-to-head meetings this season). The Missouri Mavericks host the Denver Cutthroats in a battle of the two clubs tied for fourth place with 52 points and the final game of the night features rivals Bloomington and Quad City going at it. The Blaze have won six of the 11 meetings thus far but the Mallards o ffense has scored 18 goals against Bloomington in their last three meetings.

3.) Mavs Starting to Click- The Missouri Mavericks (24-17-4, 52 points) are coming off a successful week winning three of four games outscoring the opposition 15-8 in those three victories. The trio of Sebastien Thinel, Kellan Tochkin and Kenton Miller fueled the offense combining to score nine goals with 15 assists and a +16 plus/minus. Thinel, a two-time CHL scoring champ, leads the league in scoring with 69 points (21-48=69) and Tochkin was named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week on Monday for his four goals and six assists last week. The Mavs begin a three-game home stand on Tuesday versus Denver (7-3 in their last 10 home contests) and will play six of their next eight games in the Independence Events Center.

By the Numbers

9: The number of goals the Quad City Mallards scored in Friday's 9-6 win over Bloomington marking the highest single game output in the CHL this season. The 15 combined goals also marked a league season high and were the most combined goals in a game since February 12th when Tulsa beat Rio Grande Valley by a 9-6 count. Anthony Perdicaro led the offense with a hat trick (has 12 goals and 12 assists in 26 games this season). The seven goals scored in the second period by the Flock were the most in a single frame since November 21, 2008 (Colorado).

One-Timers

-Wichita goalie Kevin Regan saw his first action since January 18th on Saturday night versus Allen but left the game late in the first period with an apparent injury. Torrie Jung spelled Regan and earned the win moving to 6-0-2 in his last eight decisions.

-Bloomington's defense has been struggling lately allowing 31 goals in their last six games. On the season, they are ninth in the league allowing 3.7 goals per game. The counter is that the Blaze lead the league in goals scored averaging 3.7 goals per game.

-After dropping four straight decisions, Missouri's Mike Clemente has won back-to-back games and now leads the CHL with 18 wins on the season. The rookie also leads the league in minutes played (1777:27) and saves (821).

-Denver finished their five-game home stand on Saturday falling victim to Fort Worth, their third straight loss (0-2-1). The Fish finished 2-2-1 on the stretch.

-Allen leads the CHL in penalty minutes on the season averaging close to 24 PIM's per game. Allen has been whistled for the most minors, misconducts and game misconducts of any CHL club.
