
Lightning's Marvin Phillips Named the Recharge with Milk Player of the Week

(TORONTO, ON): The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning has been named the Recharge with Milk Player of the Week for the week ending February 10, 2013. This is the third time a Lightning player has been honoured as Player of the Week; Phillips joins Morgan Lewis and Elvin Mims as previous Lightning players to earn this honour.
Phillips, a 6'7" forward who played his collegiate basketball at Claflin University (South Carolina), averaged 20 points per game in two big road victories for London, allowing the Lightning to earn a playoff berth for the second consecutive year. Phillips' big game came on February 7, when he came off the bench to score 29 points in London's 102-92 victory over the Moncton Miracles.
