Storm Double Up Bolts, 12-6December 17, 2012 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) Real Phoenix
The victory now improves the Arizona Storm record to 4-4, the fist time the franchise has been at .500 since November 13, 2011.
Arizona Storm head coach Steve Green spoke after the game saying how his team likes to employ a fast paced, high octane offense that constantly attacks the oppositions net. The Storm's philosophy was evident early on as they scored four goals in the first five minutes of the game. Anaheim regrouped after the fourth goal and was able to stop the offensive attack, but wasn't able to finish out the quarter as the Storm scored three more goals which included a third goal from David Hague for his second hat trick of the season.
The Storm needed the high scoring first quarter as Anaheim, led by player-manager Bernie Lilavois, were able to chip away at the lead for the next two quarters. While resulted in cutting the Storm lead to five going into the fourth quarter. However lock down defense by the Storm along with another goal, courtesy of Andrew Szerlag, deflated any comeback attempt for Anaheim and sealed the victory for the Storm.
A elated Green said after the game "We're starting to gel. Everyone is understanding the game better. We have a long season ahead of us, but I'm happy that we are at .500. It will motivate us to continue moving forward."
Next game for the Arizona Storm will be on December 29th, when they travel to Las Vegas to take on the first place Legends.
