Fayetteville's Bobby Reed Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (November 27, 2012) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Bobby Reed of the Fayetteville FireAntz is the Easton Player of the Week for November 19-25.

Reed scored his first three goals of the season, including one game-winner, and added two assists as Fayetteville maintained their hold on first place with a 3-0 record last week.

Reed kicked off the holiday weekend with a one goal, one assist performance as the FireAntz defeated Knoxville 8-2. In the second game of a home-and-home series Saturday, the Huntsville, Ontario native scored the eventual game-winning goal as Fayetteville rallied from a 3-0 second-period deficit to outlast the Ice Bears 5-4. Reed closed out the weekend by scoring in his third consecutive game and adding an assist in a 4-1 win over Columbus.

Now in his fourth season with the FireAntz, Reed is among the league scoring leaders with 10 points. Reed played collegiately at St. Francis Xavier University before turning pro in 2008, when he recorded 10 goals and 12 assists with the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers.
