A Statement from the Canadian Football League

November 26, 2012 - Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release

Congratulations to the 100th Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts! What a tremendous victory, on home soil and in an historic, milestone game. Owner David Braley and the entire organization, and especially Coach Milanovich and the Argonaut players, certainly earned the praise they are being showered with today.

Congratulations as well to the 100th Grey Cup Festival Committee, led by Chris Rudge, and its staff and volunteers, on staging just an unbelievable celebration in the city of Toronto. You talked about creating a bigger footprint, and it was there, but what you really made is a deep and lasting impression on the hearts and minds of your fellow Torontonians and all Canadians.

Most of all, on behalf of our entire league and particularly our Board of Governors, I want to thank you, our fans. You make everything we do possible, and in this year of the 100th Grey Cup, you made virtually everything we did successful. From the Grey Cup 100 Train Tour presented by RONA, which touched us all right across the country, to Sunday's Sun Life Grey Cup Fan March, that filled the streets of downtown Toronto with joy and excitement, and everything in between, you showed your passion for our game, and pride in what the Grey Cup means to our country, for all to see and, ultimately, share. You made the 100th Grey Cup celebrations, festival and game a huge success, and for that we are all humbly and eternally grateful.
