Drakkar's Philippe Cadorette Named Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Philippe Cadorette of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 4 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.50 and save percentage of .954.

Cadorette backstopped the Drakkar to back-to-back wins against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens last week beginning with a 26-save performance on Friday night as part of the 7-1 victory. On Saturday he received first star honours with 36 saves in the 6-2 win. Cadorette has now won six straight games helping launch the Drakkar into fifth place in the QMJHL standings with 24 points.

Cadorette, a 17-year-old from St-Hilaire, QC, is playing in his second QMJHL season with the Drakkar and is eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. This season he carries an 8-4-0-1 record with a goals-against-average of 2.90 and save percentage of .894 in 13 games played.

Also considered for the award this week was Daniel Altshuller of the Oshawa Generals who went 2-1-0-0 with a shutout victory and a goals-against-average of 1.68 and save percentage of .948, while Eric Williams of the Spokane Chiefs also went 2-1-0-0 with a shutout posting a goals-against-average of 1.42 and save percentage of .949.
