LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Friday, November 2: Penguins 3, MONARCHS 0...

In his first start against his former team, Penguins goaltender Jeff Zatkoff stopped 33 shots to record his first shutout of the season and help Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 3-0 victory over Manchester.

Eric Tangradi and Dylan Reese each tallied power play goals in the second period as part of a 2-for-6 effort on the man-advantage. Paul Thompson added an empty net goal in the closing seconds of regulation.

Sunday, November 4: Penguins 5, SOUND TIGERS 3...

Paul Thompson scored a natural hat trick in the second period to lead Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 5-3 win against Bridgeport at Webster Bank Arena.

With the score tied, 1-1, in the second period, Thompson potted goals at 8:00, 12:41 and 19:23 of the frame. Brian Gibbons and Dylan Reese each recorded their second goals of the season.

Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff stopped 37-of-40 shots for the Penguins.

Wednesday, November 7, 7:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Senators ... 102.3 the Mountain

The Penguins face the Senators for the first time since their season opener on Oct. 13, in which Binghamton rallied for a 2-1 win at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The Senators have gone 2-4-1-0 since opening the season with two wins and wrap up a six-game road stretch on Wednesday. They sit tied for third place in the East Division with the Hershey Bears, one point ahead of the Penguins.

Friday, November 9, 7:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Bears ... 102.3 the Mountain

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton hosts Hershey for the first time this season and the second of 12 games overall. The Bears (4-4-1-0) had a three-game winning streak snapped last Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Hershey edged the Penguins in their first meeting, 3-2, on Oct. 28 at GIANT Center. Seven of Hershey's nine games this season have been decided by one goal (3-3-1-0).

Saturday, November 10, 7:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Pirates... MyNetworkTV, 102.3 the Mountain

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Portland (4-3-1-0) face each other for the first of their four-game season series. The Pirates have won three of the last four contests and are in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. Portland has allowed a league-leading six shorthanded goals, but also ranks first in the AHL at 4.25 goals per game. Goaltender Chad Johnson has posted two shutouts in six starts this season.

- Paul Thompson scored a natural hat trick in the second period on Sunday at Bridgeport to help the Penguins to a 5-3 win over the Sound Tigers.

- It was the Penguins' first hat trick on the road since Chris Minard recorded one on Nov. 2, 2008 at Houston.

- In his first start against his former team, Jeff Zatkoff made 33 saves and registered a 3-0 shutout on Friday at Manchester.

- Warren Peters played his 500th pro game on Friday against the Monarchs.

- WBS has killed off 29 straight power plays going back to their game against Syracuse on Oct. 21.

- The Pens rank 2nd in the AHL on the penalty kill with a 94.1% (48-for-51) conversion rate.
