
Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week Named

TORONTO - Henry Burris, Adam Bighill, Trent Guy and Jon Cornish were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week for Week 14, the Canadian Football League announced today.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

QB - Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Montreal Alouettes 28 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 41
Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarter back Henry Burris was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 14. Burris completed 28 of 32 passes and threw for 326 yards and five touchdowns in the Ticats' 41-28 win over the Montreal Alouettes. Burris also contributed 34 yards on four carries in the crucial Week 14 matchup at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
Burris captured his third 2012 Offensive Player of the Week award and his five touchdown passes on Friday night tied a career high.

BC Lions 21 @ Saskatchewan Roughriders 27
BC Lions linebacker Adam Bighill was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14. Bighill registered a franchise record 13 tackles in the Lions' 27-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Bighill's impressive performance earned him his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award.

Montreal Alouettes 28 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 41
Montreal Alouettes kick returner Trent Guy was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 14. Guy registered 125 yards on six kick returns and added another 65 yards on four punt returns in the Alouettes' 41-28 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Guy was a bright spot for the Als in the first half as he ran for 103 yards on five kick returns. Guy's efforts earned him his second consecutive Special Teams Player of the Week award.

Jon Cornish
RB - Calgary Stampeders
Edmonton Eskimos 15 @ Calgary Stampeders 39
Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish was named the Canadian Player of the Week for Week 14. The New Westminster, BC native compiled 180 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and added 12 yards on three receptions in the Stampeders' 39-15 win over the Edmonton Eskimos. Cornish ran for 131 yards on 11 carries in the first half en route to helping his team to within one game of first place in the West Division and earning his sixth 2012 Canadian Player of the Week award.
Cornish also becomes the eighth Canadian player in CFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
