Reno Bighorns Begin Search for New In-Game Host

RENO, NEV., August 24, 2012 - The Reno Bighorns are searching for a new In-Game Host for the 2012-13 season, the team announced today. The In-Game Host will have big shoes to fill in replacing Austin Reed, the Bighorns In-Game Host for their first four seasons.

"I enjoyed every bit of my four years of being a part of the Bighorns family," said Reed. "I was proud to be a part of this organization that has brought and will continue to bring top-notch entertainment to Nevada."

The In-Game host serves as the voice and face of the Bighorns in-game entertainment during all home games. The ideal candidate will bring high energy and a positive attitude to the job, creating fun and memorable experiences for fans.

This position is responsible for emceeing all game activities including pre-game activities, promotions during timeouts and breaks, and post-game events. The In-Game Host must effectively communicate corporate messaging while also interactively engaging and entertaining fans. This position will also assist in creating and executing in-arena promotions and contests.

Interested applicants must submit a cover letter, resume and one-minute video that displays their energy, personality and creativity. All documents and videos must be submitted via email to Director of Marketing and Game Operations, Natalie Arneson at narneson@renobighorns.com. The deadline to apply for this position is Friday, September 14.

All eligible candidates will be contacted for an initial interview. Once the finalists are chosen, they will create another one-minute video that will be posted to the Bighorns' social media outlets. Bighorns fans will be a part of the selection process through social media. Additional requirements for the job are listed below.

Reed offered his advice to potential candidates, "To the new host, I would say the most important thing is to have fun, you are not the whole game but a part of the whole fan experience. Have passion, let it show and do it with class. And remember to have a blast!"

Requirements:

* Live on-air stadium/arena, television, radio or stage performance experience

* Strong vocal talent, excellent enunciation skills

* Strong public speaking skills and ability to speak extemporaneously to large crowds

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Strong knowledge of NBA basketball

* Good memorization skills and ability to perform with little or no preparation

* Must be available for all 26 homes games (includes Showcase games) and all pre-season and post-season games. Schedule includes nights, weekends, holidays, non-traditional hours

* Interest in participating in and supporting Bighorns community efforts
