Pump Jacks Seek First TCL Title Versus GeneralsAugust 13, 2012 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL) East Texas PumpJacks
And thanks to a strong regular season that saw the team ranked as high as #7 in the nation by Perfect Game, and an equally strong 9-2 win over the Alexandria Aces last night in the first round, that goal is now just two wins away.
The best-of-three TCL Championship Series between the Pump Jacks and the Victoria Generals begins tonight at Riverside Stadium in Victoria. The two teams met to decide the 2010 TCL championship, a series Victoria captured in two games. But this time, the Jacks have the home field advantage, and they'll look to rewrite history this week.
First pitch of Game One is set for 7:05 p.m. tonight. The series shifts to historic Driller Park on Tuesday night for Game Two. If a decisive third game is necessary, it will be played at Driller Park on Wednesday night.
Fans attending Pump Jacks playoff games at Driller Park on Tuesday or Wednesday will receive a commemorative 2012 team poster courtesy of Martin L.P. Gas. This year's poster celebrates the team's fifth anniversary "" and Driller Park's 65th birthday "" in a collectible, vintage-style poster bearing the Pump Jacks players and coaches who made this season so memorable.
