Wichita 4, Kansas City 2The Wichita Wingnuts rolled out to a 3-0 lead after two innings and would cruise to a 4-2 win over the Kansas City T-Bones. Wichita SS Ryan Khoury led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Wingnuts 3B Steve Carrillo, DH John Rodriguez and LF Jared McDonald each chipped in with two hits apiece. Wichita reliever Andrew Aizenstadt was the winner as he allowed two earned runs on five hits in two innings of work. Aizenstadt is now 1-0 on the season. For Kansas City in defeat, RF Ray Sadler accounted for all his team's runs with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Laredo 13, Amarillo 1
It was all Laredo in this one, as the Lemurs plated four runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to open up a tight game and beat the Amarillo Sox, 13-1. Laredo hammered out 18 hits in the game with each player in the lineup collecting at least one. Lemurs SS Uriak Marquez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI while 1B Javier Brito launched his fourth home run of the season in a 2-for-5 night. Laredo starting pitcher Mark Haynes was sensational en route to his third win of the season. Haynes tossed a complete game allowing only one earned run on four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. In the loss for Amarillo, 1B Tim Alberts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.
