Sundogs Sign Kyrzakos for 2012-2013 Season

July 9, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL) Arizona Sundogs

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs announced today that 27-year-old, veteran forward Jeff Kyrzakos has joined the club for the upcoming 2012-2013 Central Hockey League season. Kyrzakos (ker-ZAH-kohs) a native of Mississauga, Ontario, becomes the third forward signed this offseason.

The upcoming season will be Kyrzakos' seventh as a pro. The right wing's professional career began in 2006-07 where he spent 2 seasons with the Phoenix Roadrunners of the ECHL and had 22 goals and 24 assists in 99 games. After spending 3 seasons in the ECHL, Kyrzakos signed with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the CHL where he won his first championship during the 2010-2011 season. He was also named the President's Cup Playoff MVP where he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win over the Colorado Eagles in Game 7.

Last season Kyrzakos signed with Rapid City Rush where he tallied 43 points, 16 goals and 27 assists. He finished the season with an impressive +/- rating of +14.

Prior to turning pro Kyrzakos spent 5 seasons playing in the OPJHL and OHL, Canadian Junior Leagues, during which he scored 115 points.

"I'm pretty excited knowing that the city and facilities are nice," said Kyrzakos. He continued to say "I'm looking forward to helping the team get back to where they were a few years ago."

The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Their seventh season is set to begin in October 2012. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
