Commandos to host Erie in UIFL North Division Finals

The 2012 roster for the Cincinnati Commandos featured talent from numerous local college and high school programs. 2011 CIFL Most Valuable Player, quarterback Tyler Sheehan played at LaSalle High School and Bowling Green State University. Sheehan was names to the all-UIFL North Division 2nd team in 2012. Defensive lineman Terrell Byrd played high school football for Colerain and was a standout at the University of Cincinnati. Byrd was also named to the all-UIFL North Division 2nd team in 2012.

The Commandos will host the Erie Explosion on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the UIFL Championship game to be played the following week. The date and location of the UIFL Championship game, depends on the results of the divisional championship games this weekend in Cincinnati and Ft. Myers, Florida.

The Commandos and Explosion split their two regular season games, with the road team capturing the win in both games. The Commandos won at Erie 55-34 on April 21, while the Explosion handed the Commandos their one-and-only home loss, ever, with a convincing 62-18 win at the Cincinnati Gardens on May 26.
