Following another two-hour rain delay before first pitch, the Huntsville Stars were swept in a doubleheader with the Mobile BayBears on Saturday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

In a game that featured a bench-clearing brawl in the fifth inning after Mobile RF Alfredo Marte charged the mound following being hit by a pitch from Stars starter Tyler Thornburg, the Stars fell by a score of 7-3. The loss for Thornburg was his first of the season, falling to 8-1 after giving up six runs (four earned) in 4.2 innings pitched.

After the loss during game one, the Stars found themselves down by a score of 7-1 after two innings in the second game following two homeruns by BayBears third basemen Matt Davidson. However, the Stars rallied back for five unanswered runs, but could only pull within one run of Mobile as they lost by a score of 7-6. Starting pitcher Evan Anundsen fell to 4-3 on the year after giving up seven runs in 3.0 innings of work. On offense, first basemen Hunter Morris went 3-for-4 and hit his team-leading seventh homerun of the season.

With the sweep, the Stars now currently sit 5.5 games behind the Jackson Generals for first place in the Southern League North. The Stars have seven games to play while the Generals have eight.

The Stars and BayBears will play game four of a five-game series on Sunday starting at 2:05 CT.
