(Saint John, NB): Modibo Diarra, a member of the Saint John Mill Rats Professional Basketball team, is currently trapped in Mali, Africa with his wife Mariam and his three year old daughter Cindy. He returned home at the beginning of April to rescue his family during a coup d'etat. In an effort to help him return to safety with Mariam & Cindy, committee members in partnership with the Canterbury Lounge, will be holding a tribute night to raise funds to support the cause this Friday.
A portion of the door proceeds will be donated as well as half the proceeds from the feature drink of the night "The Mighty Modibo".
The committee has already reached the half way mark for their fundraising goal of 15K but need your help for the last leg of the journey. What a great excuse to get dressed up and dance for a great cause with DJ Gordi Munro! #AfricatoCanada (follow the trend on twitter) - "Not without my wife & daughter". Tune into K100 to hear more!
