Astros Announce 2012 Promotional Schedule, Tickets

GREENEVILLE, TN- The Greeneville Astros are back for the 2012 season, single game tickets are on sale, and along with plenty of games comes plenty of entertainment for all ages with the 2012 promotional schedule. With fireworks displays, free giveaways, theme nights, and plenty more, the Greeneville Astros are sure to offer fun and entertainment for all age groups.
Throughout the 2012 season, there will be over ten opportunities to receive free giveaways presented by the Astros. Before the home opener on June 25, guests will be given a free magnet schedule of the 2012 Greeneville Astros, courtesy of Terry, Terry, and Stapleton. The giveaways continue the next night with the opportunity to get a free bandana sponsored by Takoma Regional Hospital. On June 28, the Greeneville Astros will host one of their biggest events of the season, The Band Perry Night with TBP Bobblehead Giveaway by Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
The giveaways continue throughout the season with items such as sunglasses, sunglasses straps, luggage tags, visors, oven mitts presented by Terry, Terry, and Stapleton, stress balls, and stadium blankets sponsored by Laughlin Memorial Hospital. The last giveaway of the season will take place on August 27, in which mystery autographed baseballs will be given away before the game. There will be a limited supply of each giveaway, so fans will need to arrive early to ensure their chances of receiving these exciting items.
In addition to offering many giveaways, the Greeneville Astros will host various bands in order to provide pregame entertainment. On July 4, the Aly Taylor Band will kick off the pregame concerts. Following them on July 6 will be the Caribbean Cowboys Band. Other concerts throughout the season include Daisi Rain, Noelle LaRue, Payton Taylor, and New Method, a Christian band that will be performing on Faith Night on August 19.
The Greeneville Astros also provide many opportunities to give thanks and help those within the community throughout the season. Some of these theme nights include Bark in the Park presented by Duckworth Animal Hospital, Boys and Girls Club Night, Wellness Night presented by Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Parrot Head Night, YMCA Night, Heroes Night presented by Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Teacher Appreciation Night presented by TN Lottery, Fan Appreciation Night, and Faith Night.
Throughout the season, the Greeneville Astros will be offering many opportunities to raise awareness for various causes as well. The first awareness night will take place on June 27 with Mitochondrial Awareness Night. Other awareness nights include Ed Randall's Bat for the Cure Night, Kidney Disease Awareness Night sponsored by Fresenius Medical Care, ALS Awareness Night, and Take 25 Night. All of these nights are put on to help those in need and raise awareness for these causes.
Fans will have a chance to bid on a couple of great items this season during two silent auctions taking place at Astros home games. On July 4th, the team will again don their special Stars and Stripes Caps. These hats will be auctioned off during the game and the winners will go down on the field after the game to take their hat right off of their player's head. On July 13, a Dierks Bentley signed guitar will be auctioned off in conjunction with the 2nd Chance Leaning Center Night.
In addition to the giveaways, pregame concerts, and awareness nights, the Greeneville Astros will also be providing beautiful entertainment in the form of fireworks. The fireworks begin on opening night, June 25, to ring in the start of the Astros season. The annual 4th of July Celebration will take place again this summer. The largest firework show in East Tennessee is presented by LandAir and Marsh Petroleum. On August 28, season finale fireworks will be on display, presented by LandAir, to end the 2012 season. There are also four other Friday Night Fireworks shows throughout the season.
The Greeneville Astros will also offer many daily promotions and special non-game events. Monday nights are centered on kids. Each Monday will be Kids Nite Out presented by Takoma Regional Hospital. Members of the Lil' Outlaws Kids Club can attend on these nights at no charge as part of their membership and also eat free. Takoma will be on hand with balloons, flying discs and many other fun events in which kids may participate. Also on Monday nights, kids will be allowed to run the bases after the game.
Adults can get in on the Monday night fun as well with Monday Mug Night. Adults of age can purchase a mug for $6 with $4 refills. On Tuesdays, the deals continue with various menu items, programs and berm tickets to the game priced at $2. Thirsty Thursday and $1 Hot Dog Night are back as well. On these days, fans will be given the chance to purchase $1 hot dogs and receive $1 off of 32 oz. drinks and beer. Every Sunday will offer the chance to buy one ticket and receive one free. With all of these money saving promotions, it is no surprise that, throughout the summer, Pioneer Park is a great place to be.
The Greeneville Astros will open their season on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. Single game tickets are now available for sale at www.greenevilleastros.com and in the box office at Pioneer Park.
