Danbury Whalers News Release
The Danbury Whalers have announced the official dates for the Danbury Whalers Free Agent Tryout Camp. The two day event will begin on Friday, June 22nd 9AM running through to Saturday, June 23rd at 8:30 PM.
The Tryout Camp will be highlighted by Saturday's all day event which will feature the Second Annual Danbury Whalers Summer All-Star Game at 7 PM.
Following the team tryout camp in June, the Whalers will hold a final 10 day invitation only training camp in October to make up the final Opening Night roster.
As an added bonus, fans in attendance at the early sessions will get to vote which players they would like to see in the Saturday All-Star Game.
Over the past two years Danbury Whalers players Carlo Ricci, James Ryerse, Joe Spagnoli, Joe Dabkowski & John Madsen were signed through this camp.
Players are being directed to the team website at www.thedanburywhalers.com. There they will find a tryout registration form which they can email or mail back to the team to register. Player candidates must be 20 years or older to compete.
The Danbury Whalers are members of the Class 'A' Professional Federal Hockey League which will begin its 3rd season of play in October 2012. Were you at Game 3 of the playoffs against Brooklyn, when Sean O'Malley scored the Overtime series winning goal? Did you have a seat when Alex Goupil made his return to Danbury?
The Danbury Whalers are heading into their 3rd season and the club is currently taking reservations for season tickets plans and packages.
We can't stress enough, the Whalers offer ticket plans and program to meet every fans needs and fit into their budget.
On average, season ticket holders will save between 20-33% on their package of games and added benefits.
For the fan that comes to more than one game, it is worth looking into and speaking with a Whalers representative to see what options are out there.
Packages start at $65.
Season ticket holders have the right of first refusal on their current seats and those wishing to purchase will be added to a priority waiting list for their seat selection. New seat selections will take place in June at the Summer All-Star game.

Over the past two seasons the Danbury Whalers have played to packed houses at the Danbury Ice Arena.
As we are in the process of putting together our 3rd season, we'd love to hear from you the fans about what you'd like to see.
Give us your thoughts regarding promotions, menu items, music, ticket packages, groups, whatever the topic might be, we'd love to hear from you.
Over the years our fans have asked us to switch our primary logo (we did it on 12/29/09 at our opening press conference), pay tribute to professional hockey in New Haven (12/3/11), do a teddy bear toss to name a few.
