U.S. Bank Selected as First Recipient of Reno Bighorns Community Partner of the Year Award

RENO, NEV., May 8, 2012 - The Reno Bighorns have selected U.S. Bank as the first recipient of the Bighorns Community Partner of the Year award, the team announced today.

"This award is one that is close to my heart," said Bighorns owner Herb Santos, Jr. "Community involvement has been a directive for our organization and U.S. Bank joined us in reaching out to help the community in whatever way we could."

During the 2011-12 season, U.S. Bank sponsored several community initiatives with the Bighorns, including the Reno Bighorns Community Corner, U.S. Bank Kids' Court Time, and the U.S. Bank Future Leader program. Under the Community Corner program, each non-profit organization in the Reno area received 10 ticket vouchers to use for clients, volunteers, or employees.

After each home Sunday Bighorns game, kids were invited to stay after and shoot hoops with Bighorns players. The U.S. Bank Kids' Court time gave children the opportunity to play on the Bighorns professional court with their favorite players. The U.S. Bank Future Leaders Program also rewarded kids. Throughout the season, students could bring their report cards, tests or progress reports with passing grades into any Reno U.S. Bank location and receive a ticket voucher to a game.

"We want to encourage all Bighorns fans to stop in and say thanks at your local U.S. Bank Branch," said team President Mike Reynolds. "Without U.S. Bank, we wouldn't have been able to have the positive impact on the community that we did this past season. We are excited to continue and add to these great programs."
