Season Ticket Update

May 4, 2012 - SPHL (SPHL)
Mississippi Surge News Release

Thank you all for your efforts in helping us as we try to reach our goal of a Grand in the Stands of 1,000 season ticket holders. As the time approaches for us to make a decision on the status of the Surge for 2012-13, I wanted to give you an update as to where we stand.

As of May 4, we have taken deposits on 611 season tickets. That is an encouraging number and is a testament to your hard work and dedication in helping our staff build our fan base. But as we have previously said, in order to feel comfortable moving ahead into a new season, we need 700 season ticket deposits by the time we have to notify the league of our intentions. That date is Tuesday, May 15 and we would like to have the 700 deposits in place by Friday, May 11.

To get those 100 deposits in the next week we continue contacting as many prospects as possible as well as instituting the following: --extending our military discount to our "Hometown Heroes"--law enforcement officers, firefighters, and medical first responders --a special program with our partners in the Coast Chamber --instituting a discount on season tickets for children under 12

There are some fans who have not yet renewed their tickets and we have doubled our efforts to contact them, hoping to get their deposits. So many of you have done such a great job of bringing people on board, that if we continue that through this next week, we can succeed in meeting our target of 700 season ticket deposits.

Regardless of the outcome of this effort, I sincerely thank you all for your help in this process. To see your passion and effort is encouraging. I've said our best promoters are our current fans, and that has certainly proven true. I know we are hoping to find more fans just like you so that we can keep the Surge on the ice for many years to come.

Thank you and best wishes,

Tim Kerr
