Frisco, TX My 1, 2012 - The 2011-2012 Skillet Cup came down to the last game of the season between Austin and Texas to decide the 2012 Skillet Cup champion. In the season, Texas, Austin, and Rio Grande Valley all finished with .500 records against each other, giving the reigning champions from 2011, the Texas Legends, the 2012 Skillet Cup.
Last season, the Legends won the cup by going 9-5 (.642 winning percentage) against the opposing Texas teams. Austin was 8-9 (.470) and Rio Grande Valley was 6-9 (.400).
In the 2011 - 2012 season, the teams all finished with .500 records against each other giving the Legends the championship for the 2nd straight year. Texas finished 3-5 against the Austin Toros and 4-2 against the RGV Vipers finishing the season 7-7. Austin posted a 5-3 record against the Legends and a 3-5 record against the Vipers finishing the season with an 8-8 record. RGV finished 2-4 against the Legends and 5-3 against Austin finishing the season 7-7.
The Skillet Cup is awarded to the NBA D-League team from the state of Texas that finishes the season with the highest winning percentage against the opposing Texas teams.
