Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks have won three games in a row for the first time in 2012. The JetHawks got solid pitching and broke the game open with a five run seventh inning to beat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 8-2 on Wednesday night before a crowd of 1,008 at The Hangar.

Musick, who's first win came against the Quakes at The Epicenter, threw six scoreless innings before giving up two runs in the seventh. The left-hander struck out five, walked two and allowed seven hits. He is now 2-1 on the season.

The JetHawks jumped on two Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitchers early in the game to take a 2-0 lead. Right-handers Todd Coffey and Ronald Belisario were in Quakes uniforms tonight on rehab assignments.

Coffey allowed a RBI-single to George Springer in the first inning and Belisario allowed a run on an Enrique Hernandez sacrifice fly in the second. Coffey took the loss to fall to 0-1.

Lancaster added another run in the sixth inning on Telvin Nash's ninth home run of the season. Nash hit a shot to right field off Angel Sanchez. Sanchez, who was slated to start the game before the rehab assignments were announced, allowed six runs - three earned - in three innings of work.

The JetHawks scored five runs off Sanchez in the bottom of the seventh. The inning started with four straight singles courtesy of Domingo Santana, Hernandez, Rene Garcia, and Jiovanni Mier. After a hit batter and an error, Sanchez was reaplced by Scott McGough who retired the first two batters he faced but gave up a two-RBI single to Jonathan Meyer with the bases loaded.

Relievers Jose Trinidad, Patrick Urckfitz, and Andrew Robinson combined to throw 2.2 innings of hitless baseball to finish the game.

Rancho Cucamonga scored runs in the top of the seventh on a Chris O'Brien home run to left field and a RBI-double for C.J. Retherford.

The JetHawks (8-12) moved a half a game ahead of the Quakes (8-13) in the South Division. Lancaster will try to sweep Rancho Cucamonga in the final game of the four game series Thursday night at The Hangar. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Thursday night's game is another Cheers Buck Beers Thursday presented by Diamonds Jim's Casino. Beers will be sold for $1 through the sixth inning. It will also be Awful Sweater Night at the ballpark.
