LHP Merklinger to DL; RHP Rogers Reinstated, Assigned to HSV

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have made a pair of roster moves prior to tonight's game at Birmingham. LHP Dan Merklinger has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to April 11. RHP Mark Rogers has been reinstated from the restricted list and assigned to Huntsville.

Opening Day starter Merklinger is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in two starts this season. His last start was Monday night in the series opener at Birmingham. He went four innings, giving up four runs on three hits. He allowed four walks and struck out five.

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 25 with five on the disabled list.

Huntsville continues their 10-game road trip to open the season tonight in Birmingham. RHP Kyle Heckathorn (0-0, 4.76 ERA) will take the mound to face off against Barons RHP Cameron Bayne (0-0, 3.86 ERA).

The Stars return to "The Joe" this Sunday, April 15 at 4:03 p.m. to play the Tennessee Smokies (AA-Affiliate Chicago Cubs) for a five-game series immediately followed by five games against the Jackson Generals (AA-Affiliate Seattle Mariners)!
