Start 2012: The Mississippi Surge has a busy week to start 2012, with four games. The Surge will visit the Mississippi RiverKings Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. and travel to Knoxville to play the Ice Bears Thursday at 6:35 Central time. They play the same two teams at home, hosting Knoxville Friday at 7:05 p.m. and the RiverKings Sunday at 5:05 p.m.
Busy Wrapup: The Surge ended 2011 also with a busy week featuring four games. Mississippi dropped a 4-2 decision at Louisiana Monday night. The Surge returned home and in a fight filled game prevailed over Augusta, 5-2. A trip to Pensacola resulted in back-to-back one goal losses 3-2 on Friday night and 4-3 on Saturday night.
Shirt Tales: Starting Friday, and at every home game for the rest of the regular season, one fan will win a game worn jersey from one of the Surge players. Tickets for the shirt off his back promotion will be available at each souvenir stand, the guest services booth and from ticket sellers moving through the Coast Coliseum. The lucky fan will be escorted to ice level to receive the players jersey immediately at the end of the game. On Friday, one lucky fan will win the shirt off the back of Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn, and on Sunday, Jeff Grant will give his jersey to a lucky fan at the end of the game.
Elvis Salute: Sunday's game will commemorate the life Mississippi born Elvis Presley who would have turned 77 on Sunday. There will be an Elvis lookalike contest during the game and fans are encouraged to come dressed like the King of Rock N Roll .
Roster Moves: Goaltender Nick Eno is on loan to Wheeling of the ECHL and the Surge have signed goaltender Corey Milan. The surge also waived Nick Petriello and signed defenseman Mark Pawlowski.
