
Wildcats' Alex Saulnier Named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Alex Saulnier of the Moncton Wildcats is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 20 after scoring three goals and four assists for seven points in just two games with a plus-minus rating of plus-4.
Saulnier began his week by scoring his first hat-trick of the season and added an assist as first star of a 5-2 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies last Thursday night. He then contributed three assists on Saturday as second star of a 4-3 win over the fourth place Victoriaville Tigres to extend his personal point streak to nine games while pushing the Wildcats winning streak to seven straight games where they currently rank seventh place in the QMJHL standings with 31 points.
Saulnier, a 19-year-old from Moncton, New Brunswick, is playing in his third QMJHL season with his hometown club. He is currently ranked fourth in QMJHL scoring with 16 goals and 26 assists for 42 points in 27 games.
Also considered for the award this week were a pair of previous winners Tanner Pearson of the Barrie Colts and Mark Stone of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Pearson scored three goals and seven assists for 10 points in three games, while Stone scored three goals and five assists for eight points in three games.
