RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns, NBA D-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, will host open tryouts in Sacramento for the 2011-2012 Reno Bighorns team. Tryouts will take place on Sunday, October 23 at the Sacramento YMCA at 2021 W St.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the tryouts will begin at 10 a.m.

Public tryouts give players a chance to display their talents to the Bighorns coaching staff, led by head coach Paul Mokeski, with a chance of earning a spot in the Bighorns training camp in November.

"It is very exciting to get a chance to see the local talent in these different areas," said Mokeski. "The D-League has a history of giving players a chance to play professional basketball and I am excited to be a part of the process."

Five participants will be chosen from the tryouts for a second look at the final Reno tryout without a registration fee.

Participants are encouraged to register for the tryouts in advance due to the limited number of spots available. In order to pre-register participants can fill out the Player Release and Eligibility Form, which can be downloaded at RenoBighorns.com.

The tryout registration forms, along with the $150 registration fee, can be mailed to the Reno Bighorns at 9393 Gateway Dr., Suite BH, Reno, NV 89512.

Registration forms can also be faxed to (775) 323-5211 (Please include credit card number).
