IceMen Complete Trade for Goaltender

EVANSVILLE, IN.--- Positive, forward movement continues for the Evansville IceMen of the Central Hockey League as the AA/CHL franchise roster builds its way to the inception of their second season in 2011-12.

On this date, the IceMen have announced the completion of their second off-season summer trade with this one featuring the acquisition of an experienced pro goaltender.

The IceMen have obtained goaltender PIER-OLIVIER PELLETIER from CHL league rivals the Laredo Bucks in exchange for future considerations.

PELLETIER (pell-chee-A), 24, will be coming to his new hockey home address of Evansville, Indiana set to begin his fourth pro season overall and his third in the CHL. The rangy 6-2, 194lb netminder was selected in the second round, 59th overall of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes following a supreme four-year career in the major junior `A' circuit the QMJHL with the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Halifax Mooseheads from 2004 to 2008.

Last season, in 2010-11, his second campaign in Laredo, the St-Louis du Ha Ha, PQ native appeared in 29-games, posting a record of 27(7-15-5) with one shutout, 3.42 GAA and .890 SPCT. During last season, he was promoted to the AHL where he saw some brief action with the NHL New York Rangers principal affiliate. the Connecticut Whale.

In 2009-10, Pelletier divided the campaign in the ECHL with the Elmira Jackals and later with the Laredo club. In a combined 20-games, he compiled a mark of 19(10-6-3) with a sharp 2.88 GAA and stellar .915 SPCT.

His best major junior `A' season occurred in 2006-07 in Drummondville where he posted a record of a star-studded 47(29-18-0) in 51-games with one shutout, 2.97 GAA and .901 SPCT.

The IceMen have been one of the more active CHL clubs during this current off-season as this represents their second deal in recent weeks. Earlier, they dealt the rights to left wing Mike Vaskivuo to Rapid City in exchange for left wing Josh Beaulieu who Evansville inked to a pact two weeks ago.
