Legends Snap Four-Game Losing Skid

Frisco, TX (February 21, 2011) - The Texas Legends put a four game losing streak to rest on Monday night, as they defeated the Austin Toros 113-106 at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena.

The Legends and Toros played evenly through the opening half, as Austin went into halftime on top by one, 53-52.

Lance Thomas paced the Toros with 14 first-half points, while Marcus Cousin had 13 in the opening half. For Texas, all nine players got involved in the scoring mix in the first half, with Dominique Johnson leading the crew with 11 points.

Austin started the third quarter on a 15-1 run to extend their lead to 15. The Legends then answered with an 11-0 run of their own to cut the deficit to four.

After the Toros pushed their lead back up to ten, Texas finished the third on an 11-2 sprint to head into the final period trailing 85-84. Antonio Daniels heated up at the end of the third, scoring nine points in the last two minutes of the quarter.

The Legends carried that momentum into the fourth quarter. With Austin on top by one and under eight minutes to go, Texas outscored the Toros 24-16 to finish the game and end the losing streak.

Daniels led three 20-point scorers for Texas with a team-high 24 points, while Joe Alexander finished with 23.

Lance Thomas led Austin with 24 points in a losing cause.

The Legends improved to 17-18 on the year, while the Toros fell to 14-20.

Texas will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers for the fourth time this season and third time in Frisco. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
