NEW YORK - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today issued an additional fine and one-game suspension to Chicago Fire defender Gonzalo Segares for actions taken against LA Galaxy defender Leonardo in the Fire versus Galaxy game on Saturday, September 4th.

In the 21st minute, Segares struck Leonardo during an off the ball incident. The officials issued a red card to Segares during the match however, after reviewing the incident, the Disciplinary Committee determined that due to the reckless nature of the action that endangered the safety of his opponent, additional sanctions should be levied.

Segares will serve his suspension during Chicago's next two League games on September 8 against Toronto FC and September 11 against the Philadelphia Union.
