MOLINE, Ill. (August 11, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League announced today that they have re-signed defenseman Tyler Kindle, signed center Mark Ehl and signed defenseman Omar Pasha to a tryout agreement. Per club policy, no contract terms were announced.

Kindle, 32, last season finished tied for first among Mallards defensemen in goals (six) and second among Quad City blue liners in assists (15) and points (21) despite playing just 26 games after signing with the Flock in February. The Portage, Michigan, native collected 14 of his 21 points (four goals and ten assists) while quarterbacking the Mallards' power play.

"We're glad to welcome Tyler back to our blue line. He brings poise and a veteran presence, especially on the offensive side of the puck," said Mallards Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Frank Anzalone. "Tyler made a terrific impact when he came in late last season. He upgraded our power play tremendously. We look to him for leadership on the ice and in the dressing room."

Last season also saw Kindle play in England for the Newcastle Vipers of the Elite Ice Hockey League and in the CHL for the Missouri Mavericks before joining the Mallards. He scored three goals and totaled nine points in 33 games with Newcastle and scored once and produced seven points in a dozen games with Missouri.

Over the course of his seven year pro career, the 6' 0", 180-pound Kindle has played for 13 teams in the ECHL, EIHL, CHL, United Hockey League and International Hockey League. In 388 career games, Kindle has scored 64 goals and notched 155 assists for 219 points. He recorded career highs in goals (10), assists (34) and points (44) in 2007-08 while skating for the ECHL's Fresno Falcons.

Kindle played four years of college hockey at Wayne State University. He scored 29 goals and added 69 assists to total 98 points in 140 career collegiate games while helping the Warriors to three straight College Hockey America conference tournament titles and one CHA regular season title.

Ehl, 24, completed his senior season at Division III New England College in the spring. The North Vancouver, British Columbia, native capped off his time at NEC by scoring ten goals and totaling 25 points in 23 games last season.

"Mark Ehl is a solid two-way player who put up good numbers playing for a well-respected coach in Tom Carroll at New England College," said Anzalone. "He competes hard and is willing to go to the tough areas to score. He skates well and I know our fans will really appreciate his grit and determination."

Over four years at NEC Ehl recorded 56 goals and 123 points in 105 games. The 6', 190-pound Ehl was named to the 2007-08 All-ECAC East First Team after scoring 23 goals and notching 41 points in 27 games as a sophomore. Before moving across the continent for college, Ehl played two seasons of junior hockey in the British Columbia League for first the Williams Lake TimberWolves and then the Powell River Kings.

Pacha, 23, spent the last three seasons at Division III Castleton State. Last year the Boucherville, Quebec, product scored five goals and totaled 15 points in 25 games.

"Omar came highly recommended by his coach at Castleton State," said Anzalone. "He has lots of skill, possesses a great shot and sees the ice very well."

The 5' 11", 200-pound Pacha completed his Spartan career having scored 16 times and registered 49 points in 67 games. Pacha was an ECAC East All-Conference Honorable Mention selection each of the last two years. Before beginning his collegiate career Pacha skated for two years in the junior ranks in his home province with the Lachine Maroons.

Kindle, Ehl and Pacha join Obi Aduba, Nick DeCroo, Jason Dolgy, Jason Kostadine, Patrik Levesque, Shane Lovdahl, Brandon Marino, Darren McMillan and Ryan Palmer to bring the number of players on the Mallards' preseason roster to 12.

The Mallards will open their first CHL season on home ice on Saturday night, October 16, at 7:05 p.m. against the Odessa Jackalopes. Mallards 2010-11 ticket packages are now available to meet any budget or schedule. For more information on ticket packages for the upcoming season, contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364.
