Un-Named Chicago ECHL Team Names President

Hoffman Estates, IL - C & S Family Sports has appointed Wade Welsh as the President of its new, currently un-named, ECHL hockey team. Welsh joins the management team after spending the last six years with the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team.
"I have known Wade for years. He has always been a invaluable advisor to me and I'm glad to finally have him on my team,"Â said Craig Drecktrah, CEO of C & S Family Sports and team owner.
A former Vice President and General Manager of the Kalamazoo Wings, in Michigan, Welsh's entire career has centered around working in the professional sports arena. While with the Kalamazoo Wings, the team won the 2006 UHL Colonial Cup Championship and he won the 2007-08 General Manager of the Year Award. Welsh also spent time managing with the Missouri River Otters UHL team in St. Charles, Missouri, the Joliet Jackhammers Northern League Baseball team in Illinois, and the Quad City Mallards UHL team in Illinois.
"This new team has been three years in the making. And right now all of the stars seem to be aligning. Our team has a great home at the Sears Centre, we are a part of an established league with the ECHL and now have an experienced President to help lead us,"Â said Drecktrah.
"I'm thrilled to be working with Craig and his team and I can't wait to drop the puck at the Sears Centre in October 2011,"Â commented Welsh.
Last Thursday, the team launched a naming contest to celebrate its induction into the ECHL franchise and return to the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The ECHL is a Premier AA hockey league and feeder for National Hockey League and American Hockey League teams.
