
Minnesota Wild Signs RW Jean-Michel Daoust to One-Year Contract

HOUSTON - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Jean-Michel Daoust (dow-OO) to a one-year contract.
"Jean-Michel had a great season to lead Houston in scoring and showcased his skill on a consistent basis," said Assistant to the General Manager Jim Mill, who also serves as the Aeros General Manager. "He has earned this opportunity."
Daoust, 26 (11/24/83), led Houston with 55 points (21-34=55) in 78 games during his first season with the Aeros and third season in the American Hockey League. Daoust, a native of Valleyfield, Quebec, signed as an AHL free agent with Houston prior to last season. He previously spent two seasons with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, including a 28-point performance (10-18=28) in 58 games with the Penguins in 2008-09. Daoust has captured multiple league titles during his career including the Kelly Cup (ECHL) with Cincinnati and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League titles with both Hull and Gatineau.
