Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Laredo Rotary Club, announced Wednesday that team President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski will receive the Paul Harris Fellow Award on Thursday June 3rd at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
The Paul Harris Fellow is the Rotary Club's highest honor, which is exemplified by a medallion and certificate. Ruskowski was selected by Laredo Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow because of his contributions over the years to the youth of Laredo.
Ruskowski, in his eight years in Laredo, has encouraged students to complete their education. He has achieved this goal by having the Bucks players go to over 150 schools per year to meet personally with the students, acting as roll models. Ruskowski has also promoted youth Hockey in Laredo, bringing a new sporting opportunity for the youth and citizens of Laredo.
Ruskowski, along with Bucks players, front office staff and Bucks, have attended over 150 community events in 2010 and have donated over $70,000 to local charities since April of 2007
Ruskowski will be honored with this year's Paul Harris Award along with Doctor David E. Garza D.O and Samuel N. Johnson Jr.
