Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (March 25, 2010) -* The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the Mallards have signed winger Addison DeBoer. In addition, the Mallards further announced that left wing Nick DeCroo has returned to Hobart College to complete the school year and that right wing Marc Rechlicz has been suspended for one game by the IHL.
DeBoer, 21, joins the Mallards after completing his senior season at Colorado College. DeBoer scored five goals and totaled 14 points in 38 games this season and produced 14 goals and 34 points in 136 games over his four years at C.C. In 2007-08, the 6' 0", 190-pound Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, native helped the Tigers to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular season title and a berth in the NCAA tournament. DeBoer will wear number 17 for the Mallards. Per team policy, no contract terms were announced.
Rechlicz will sit out the Mallards' game Saturday night in Muskegon against the Lumberjacks after he was judged to have used a head butt in a fight in Quad City's game last Friday night against the Fort Wayne Komets. Rechlicz scored his first career goal Sunday in Muskegon and has recorded three points and 155 penalty minutes in 59 games this season.
DeCroo played four games after finishing his senior campagin at Division III Hobart and joining the Mallards last week. It has now been determined that he must return to campus in order to complete his degree, so he has been waived by the team to enable him to do so.
