Rhinos Sign Three Players

ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Rhinos announced today the signing of defender Adam West, goalkeeper Neal Kitson and forward/midfielder Carlos Aguilar pending USSF approval.

West, 22, joins the Rhinos after spending the 2009 season with the Tacoma Tide of the Premier Development League (PDL) and the previous two seasons with the Seattle Sounders of the United Soccer Leagues First Division (USL-1).

The Gig Harbor, Washington native appeared in 16 matches for Tacoma scoring 1 goal, appeared in 29 matches for Seattle over two seasons (2007 & 2008) and was a member of the Sounders 2007 USL First Division Commissioner's Cup championship team.

West attended Bellarmine Preparatory School where he played on the 2004 Washington State championship soccer team and attended the University of Washington (2004-06) prior to signing his first professional contract.

Kitson, 24, was a third round (42nd overall) draft pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards after a three year career at St. John's University (2006-2008). The New York, NY native had his best year with the Red Storm his senior season (2008) when he had 15 shutouts (school record) played 2,228 minutes, made 95 saves and had a GAA of 0.48. He was named Soccer America Collegiate MVP.

Aguilar, 21, comes to the Rhinos from the University of California, Irvine where he recorded 19 points on six goals and seven assists during the 2009 season. He was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team and was the Big West Tournament MVP.

The Palmdale, California native attended Taft College prior to UC-Irvine and scored both goals for Taft in the 2-1 victory in the 2007 California Community College Soccer State Championship match.

The Rhinos begin their 15th season of play on Saturday, April 10 in Miami, FL to take on the Miami FC Blues. Rochester opens its 2010 home slate at Marina Auto Stadium on Saturday, May 1 against the Carolina RailHawks at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets are currently on sale with packages starting at $35 in the supporters section and $99 in the General Admission and Reserved Seating sections.
