
IceGators Tie Sphl Record In 6-0 Win Over Pensacola

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 12, 2010) - The Louisiana IceGators tied the SPHL record for shorthanded goals in a game Thursday night, scoring three times in a 6-0 win over Pensacola.
In the first period and with two IceGators in the penalty box, Trevor Karasiewicz scored a rare 3-on-5 shorthanded goal. In the third period, Mike Omicioli and Cam Lilley both scored while killing Erik Kent's minor penalty for holding.
The record was originally set by Huntsville on January 5, 2006, as they recorded three shorthanded goals in a 7-1 win over Pee Dee. The Fayetteville FireAntz tied the record against Richmond on November 23, 2007 as they defeated the Renegades 6-4.
