Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, La. - As part of their continued effort to re-energize Fair Grounds Field, the Shreveport-Bossier Captains announced the Buffalo Wild Wings/Shreveport Times High School Baseball Series, a set of 13 games in March and April. Eighteen different schools from three states are participating in the series.
Along with headline sponsor Buffalo Wild Wings, the Shreveport Times is also partnering up with the Captains to bring these games to the community. All ticket revenue generated goes directly to the schools to help their support their fundraising efforts.
"We can't thank Buffalo Wild Wings and the Times for making this series possible," Captains VP/general manager Craig Brasfield said. "We believe that the presence of high school baseball here supports our plan to bring Fair Grounds Field back to the forefront of the community."
The Times will also be running a special section in the newspaper previewing the series before it begins.
"Buffalo Wild Wings of Shreveport and Bossier are proud to be a part of this great initiative to revitalize Fair Grounds Field and support local high school sports in the area," said Sam Thomas, Regional Manager, JK&T Wings, Inc. "Buffalo Wild Wings prides itself on being a strong community leader and feel that partnering with a series such as this is a great way to be involved. We encourage the community to support our leaders of tomorrow while they entertain us on the field during these games."
The series starts with Mansfield against Huntington on March 1, and concludes April 24 with Springhill against Oak Hill. All games are open to the public with concessions available at the games.
