
Surge's Senft Named Sher-Wood Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, NC (November 17, 2009) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Ryan Senft of the Mississippi Surge is the Sher-Wood Player of the Week for November 9-15.
Senft, who was selected by Mississippi in the Expansion Draft, went 2-0 for the week posting a 1.00 goals against average and a save percentage of .966.
A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Senft opened the week on Thursday by stopping 27 shots in a 3-2 win over Fayetteville. On Saturday, Senft backstopped the Surge to their first shutout in team history, and the first in the SPHL this season, making 30 saves in a 1-0 win over Columbus. Senft's performance helped move Mississippi to within one point of first place, as the Surge went 3-0 for the week.
Senft, who is in his fifth SPHL season, previously spent time between the pipes for Columbus and Richmond. He posted a career-high 18 wins and two shutouts while with the Renegades in the 2007-2008 season.
Also Nominated: Ian Vigier and Chad Rycroft, Columbus (2 gp, 0-2, 1.50 gaa, .952 save%) and Lorne Misita, Pensacola (2 gp, 3g, 2a, hat trick, 2 ppg).
