Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. - Two more Fort Wayne alums have made their major-league debuts since MLB rosters expanded on Sept. 1st . The San Diego Padres called up LHP Cesar Ramos and OF Luis Durango and both have gotten their first taste of Major League Baseball.

Ramos, 25, played in Fort Wayne in 2005. In seven starts, he went 3-2 with a 4.19 ERA. He opened the season with Triple-A Portland, where he went 5-6 with a 3.99 ERA. The Padres added Ramos to their active roster on September 8th . Since then, he has made two relief appearances and pitched three scoreless innings.

Durango was recalled by the Padres on September 14th . Two days later, he started against the Arizona Diamondbacks and was a key part of a dramatic San Diego victory. With the game tied in the bottom of the 10th inning, Durango singled, stole second and scored the winning run on a single by Everth Cabrera. Durango, 23, was on Fort Wayne's roster last season, batting .305 with 14 stolen bases. He played the entire 2009 regular season with Double-A San Antonio where he hit .281 and swiped 44 bases.

Meanwhile, RHP Ernesto Frieri was also added to the Padres' active roster on September 14th but has not yet appeared in a game.

Ramos and Durango bring the total to 86 Fort Wayne alums to make their major-league debuts.

Durango is the second member of the 2008 roster to make it to San Diego, following only RHP Mat Latos who debuted earlier this year. Ramos is the 8th member of the 2005 team to get to "The Show."
