Mallards Team Up with 93.9 FM WYEC

MOLINE, Ill. (August 13, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards of the AA+ International Hockey League announced today that 93.9 FM WYEC will be the Mallards' radio home for the next three seasons. Beginning on October 17 with the Mallards' 2009-10 season opener, WYEC will carry each of the Mallards' 76 regular season home games plus any playoff contests.

"Teaming up with WYEC and Regional Radio Group, with its strong presence in the Quad Cities and beyond, is the ideal partnership for us," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "We've received numerous inquiries from fans over the last several weeks about the radio home of the Mallards so we are especially excited to make this news official."

Game broadcasts will also be streamed live at www.myqcmallards.com and www.regionaldailynews.com. Brian Lavelle will serve as the Mallards' broadcaster this season. A 30-minute pre-game show will precede every Mallards' game broadcast, while each contest will be followed by a 15-minute post-game recap.

After opening their first IHL campaign on the road against the Flint Generals, the Mallards will return to the i wireless Center for their home opener on Saturday, October 24 against the defending Turner Cup champion Fort Wayne Komets.
