Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have signed former New Mexico forward Neil Trimm for the 2009-10 season. Trimm spent his entire rookie season with the Scorpions in 2008-09.
The 26-year-old Trimm finished 10th in the league in rookie scoring last season when he put up 44 points (17-27=44) in 60 games. Six of Trimm's 17 goals, and 11 of his 27 assists last season were on the power-play. Trimm had two multi-goal games last season, to go along with 14 PIM's.
"I feel that Neil Trimm was one of the best rookie forwards in the CHL last season," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He is a good signing for us."
Trimm, from Westmeath, Ontario, had two separate three point games last season. On December 27th Trimm had three assists at Colorado, while he picked up one goal and two assists against Rapid City on March 6th.
"We saw Neil play last season and were impressed with him," Ruskowski said. "He can contribute right away for us this year."
Prior to his rookie season with New Mexico the 6'2, 200-pound Trimm had a standout four-year career for Neumann College (D-III) in Aston, PA, where he is at the top of the Knights record books.
Trimm is the Knights all-time leading scorer with 175 points, all-time leader in assists with 114, as well as second all-time in goals with 61.
During his four years at Neumann Trimm was named an All-American, and a two-time ECAC West All-Star. Trimm, along with former Bucks defenseman Mike Gooch, had his number retired by Neumann following the 2007-08 campaign.
Trimm is the 11th Buck signed this offseason, including the fourth player with at least one season of professional experience.
The Bucks will start their eighth season in the Gateway City in October, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star game January 13th. Season tickets start at under $6.50 per game. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to order.
