Rhinos Stadium Officially Renamed Marina Auto StadiumJune 4, 2009 - USL First Division (USL-1) Rochester Rhinos
"We are excited and honored to have been chosen and to have this affiliation with the Rhinos," said Marina co-owner and President, John Gabriele. "We see this as a great opportunity to further our commitment to the team and this community."
The initial Marina Dodge franchise, was opened in Rochester in 1989 and the combined stores remain one of the largest Dodge and Mitsubishi dealerships in the Northeast. The stores are co-owned by Tony Gabriele and Sonya Romantini.
Marina Automotive Group was awarded the naming rights in a promotional drawing conducted at halftime of last Saturday's home opener. Rhinos owner and CEO, Rob Clark, selected the Auto dealer from over 300 participants in the selection process. "The Rhinos are very happy that Marina won the naming rights to the stadium," says Clark. "They have been a key supporter for the team since their inception and their further commitment will not only help the Rhinos, but will be a key element in Rochester's community and business development."
"It is overwhelming and a dream of ours, to have such an affiliation," says Marina's Tony Gabriele. "We have always been supporters of the team and we understand the privilege of this opportunity."
The new venue name, Marina Auto Stadium, will take effect immediately.
