Philadelphia and Massachusetts will face off for the fourth time this season on February 7. Neil Krause was credited with the first goal in NISL history and keeper Paul Dellistritto played all 60 minutes for the Twisters, stopping 17 of 33 shots in the loss. The KiXX followed with an 18-7 victory in the team's first trip to the Eastern States Coliseum on December 13. Forwards Hewerton Moreira and Anthony Maher led all scorers with eight points each, while Everson Maciel paced Massachusetts with a three-point score. Philadelphia then earned a 28-6 win in the teams' most recent meeting on January 10. Midfielder Ptah Myers registered a game-high with eight points, while Jeff Deren paced the hosting Twisters with four.

Last Week's Outings:

PHI 13, BAL 6 (1/31/09) - After a scoreless first quarter, the visiting KiXX connected on four unanswered two-point goals in the second stanza to take a 8-0 advantage, before Baltimore's Guiliano Celenza finally notched a two-point power-play notch, courtesy of Lee Tschantret's two-minute penalty, with only 27 seconds remaining in the half. A mere 19 seconds into the second stanza, player/coach Don D'Ambra buried a ricocheted-pass off the boards from rookie midfielder Jeremy Ortiz into the top corner for the team's first tally, followed by a score from Cape May Court House, NJ native Anthony Maher on a pass from teammate Angel Rivillo at 1:26. With midfielder Ptah Myers serving a two-minute holding penalty, Philadelphia native Pat Morris registered Philadelphia's first two-point shorthanded goal of the season on a feed from teammate John Barry Nusum at 8:28. Maher followed with his second notch of the evening, assisted by Ricardinho, at 13:03. Celenza and Garcia connected for the second time of the contest and the only score of the third period, to pull the Blast within four, 8-4, at 13:26. Nusum extended Philadelphia's lead back to six, 10-4, on a nice pass off the boards from teammate Hewerton Moreira at 2:49 of the final frame. With the assist, Moreira extended his point streak to eight games. Forward Matt Watson found the back of the net to cut into the KiXX advantage, 10-6, at 8:03, but Moreira sealed the team's victory, 13-6, with a three-point empty net goal at 14:27.

Dance Team Clinic: The Philadelphia KiXX will be holding the Second Annual Dance Clinic on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Tri-State Sports. This clinic will be instructed by our professional dancers and staff for dancers, ages 7-18 from the Tri-State area, interested in learning great new skills and techniques. The clinic is open to all dance levels, gymnasts, cheer, dance, and pom teams. All participants will learn a dynamic high-energy, hip-hop jazz routine that will be performed during halftime of the Philadelphia KiXX home game on Sunday, March 1. Kick-off is 4:05 pm.

T-Shirt Night: The first 3,000 patrons to enter the historic Wachovia Spectrum on Saturday, February 7 will receive a complimentary T-Shirt, courtesy of NBC 10. The t-shirt will include the top 10 KiXX memories at the Spectrum including the team's inaugural home game on October 19, 2006, player/coach Don D'Ambra recording his 1,000th career point, all-star goalkeeper Peter Pappas' first of four career shutouts, etc. Don't miss your chance to take home a piece of history!

Leading the Way: Forward Hewerton Moreira continues to pace all NISL scorers this season, sitting atop the NISL leaderboard for the second consecutive week and 10th week overall with 45 points. The native of Santos, Brazil posted a season-best 10 points on five two-point goals versus Monterrey on January 25 to reclaim the top spot from teammate and Philadelphia native Pat Morris. Overall, either Moreira or Morris has held the top spot among all NISL scorers for the entire length of the season. Moreira, who is the League's first two-time winner of the NISL Player of the Week accolade, has recorded at least one goal in each of his eight games played this season, his first with Philadelphia.

Still Counting: KiXX midfielder Ptah Myers is well on his way to becoming Philadelphia's Ironman. The Columbus, OH native appeared in his 102nd consecutive regular-season game in Baltimore on January 31 and has now appeared in 108 consecutive contests including playoffs. The UMASS product has played in every game each of the last three seasons and last missed an outing when he did not participate in the team's contest versus the Milwaukee Wave on February 9, 2005. Scott Henderson holds the team's all-time mark with 147 consecutive outings.

Registration Opens for Summer Kamps: The club recently announced that online registration for the 2009 Philadelphia KiXX Summer Kamp program is now available. The summer camp program, which opens in mid-June and runs through late August, is designed for boys and girls (ages four to 14) with approximately 40 locations offered throughout the Tri-State area.
