
Sounds Announce 2009 Game Times

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds released their 2009 playing schedule today and will host 72 games at Greer Stadium during their 32nd season of competition.
The 2009 home schedule includes ten homestands consisting of 14 day games and 31 weekend dates (Fri.-Sun.). The slate also includes three scheduled doubleheaders (May 30 vs. Omaha, June 7 at Omaha, and July 11 vs. Round Rock).
New manager Don Money will lead the Sounds into Pacific Coast League action on Thursday, April 9th at Greer Stadium for the 2009 season opener, when they'll face the New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:00 p.m.
For the second straight year, Nashville concludes the regular season at Zephyr Field in New Orleans, where they'll wrap up the 2009 campaign with a 2:00 p.m. contest on Labor Day (September 7th) against the Zephyrs.
The Pacific Coast League continues its use of an unbalanced 144-game schedule format in 2009. The Sounds will play 16 games (eight home, eight away) against teams in their own conference. Nashville will host each of the four Pacific Conference Southern Division teams - Fresno, Las Vegas, Reno, and Sacramento - in four-game series at Greer Stadium. The Sounds will travel to each of the four Pacific Northern clubs - Colorado Springs, Portland, Salt Lake, and Tacoma - for four-game sets.

The 2009 season will be the Sounds' 12th year in the Pacific Coast League and their fifth as the Milwaukee Brewers' top affiliate. The 2009 promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
