PRACTICE SCHEDULE: The Ice is scheduled to practice at Pepsi Coliseum Tuesday-Thursday from 2:45-4:45 pm and the team has a pre-game skate on Friday morning from 9-10 am at Pepsi Coliseum.
HOME AGAIN: The Ice is home for two this weekend and look to extend their home win streak to ten games when the team hosts the Chicago Steel on Friday and the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday evening. Overall, Indy is 9-1-0 at home and just two games shy of their all-time record home winning streak of 11 set last season. In addition, the club has outscored their opponents 45-20 at the Pepsi Coliseum.
HEY HEY HEY: Ice forward Ben Albertson has added some scoring touch from the wing position as the first-year forward from Williston, VT has points in four of his last five games. His overall stat line includes two goals and three assists.
FROM "CALI" TO RUSSIA: San Clemente, CA native Brandon Richardson and Moscow, Russia native Stanislav Galiev both take four-game point streaks into this week's action. Richardson has three goals and two assists to show for the four-game swing and leads all Ice players in points (22) and assists (15). Overall, he is tied for fourth in the USHL in both those categories. Galiev, one of the youngest players in the USHL at 16, has recorded two goals and four assists for his streak and is fifth in the league in goals (11), fourth in power play goals (5) and first overall in game-winning goals (4).
WEEKEND REPEAT: The division wars heat up again this weekend as the Ice has a "repeat" from last weekend as the team will do battle once again with Chicago and Green Bay. The Ice beat the Steel 3-2 on Saturday in their first meeting since last year's playoffs. Overall, Indy is 20-10-0 all-time against Chicago. Green Bay knocked off the Ice 6-4 on Friday and it was the Gambler's first win against the Ice since the 2006-07 season since Indiana was a perfect 7-0-0 against Green Bay in 2007-08.
TEAM NEWS: Chris Stafne had a goal and an assist in Saturday's win at Chicago....Loren Barron tallied his first goal of the year in Friday's game at Green Bay....Dan Cecka is riding a three-game point streak (2G, A)....Brett Bennett is first among league netminders in wins (11) and save percentage (.927)...The Ice is 7-2-1 in their last ten games...Indy is second in the USHL on the penalty kill (88.5%).
CAMPUS TOUR: Eric Olimb (2005-07) and Tomas Klempa (2004-05) both had three-point weekends for UNO...Kyle Page (2005-06) and Locke Jillson (2007-08) both scored their first collegiate goals last weekend for Bowling Green and Cornell respectively.
