Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

Victoriaville, QC - The Victoriaville Tigres took advantage of a slow start by the MAINEiacs to earn a 4-2 win in Telus Central Divison action Friday night. Jonathan Bonneau, Dave Nolin, and Brandon Hynes all lit the lamp for the Tigres in the opening period.

Lewiston would get back on track, limiting Victoriaville to just eight shots on net during the final two periods. The stingy defensive effort would put Lewiston in a position to mount a comeback. The MAINEiacs would get on the board on a short handed goal by captain Danick Paquette at 2:09 of the second period. Paquette would take a feed in the slot from forward Dominic Savoie, and shoot high on the glove side of Victoriaville goaltender Kevin Poulin

Nearly seven minutes later, Paquette tallied his second goal of the game on the power play to pull his team within one. Lewiston pulled goaltender Peter Delams with the less than two minutes remaining, but Victoriaville rookie Andrej Nestrasil would score the empty net goal to seal the win for his team

Lewiston will conclude its weekend road trip Sunday when they travel to Quebec City to take on the Remparts at the Colisee Pepsi. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
