Outlaws Hire Caesar Cervin as Co-Head Coach

09/09/08 (Flower Mound, TX) - Texas Outlaws Coach Kevin Leonard and Managing Partner Eric Danchak have named Caesar Cervin to Outlaws coaching staff. Caesar is a former Dallas Sidekicks (MISL) coach for 14 years.
"Caesar has great experience coaching in the MISL with the Dallas Sidekicks. He was the first piece of the puzzle that needed to fit in order for us to build something special with the Outlaws. I am very excited to be able to work with such an experienced coach to build a high profile teamand bring a winning tradition back to Dallas / Ft Worth."
Caesar Cervin, a Texas born athlete, grew up in Europe. While there he was introduced to soccer and found his passion in life. Upon high school graduation he made his way back home to Dallas, Texas to play for the SMU Mustang soccer team. He played professionally for ten years in various cities such as Dallas, Oklahoma City, Cleveland, and Wichita. After playing professionally he decided to make a career change to coaching starting with the USISL where he was named "Coach of the Year". In 1990 he was invited by Gordon Jago, of the Dallas Sidekicks, to join his coaching staff and went on to win the championship in 1993. Later, Jago retired and passed the reigns to Antonio Carlos Pecorari "Tatu" who insisted that Caesar stay as his assistant coach. Along with Tatu, Caesar took the Sidekicks to four championships games winning the title in 1997 and 2001. Caesar was with the Sidekicks until they ceased operations in 2004.
The Texas Outlaws are a first year team in the new Professional Arena Soccer League. The Outlaws will be playing a 16 game season with 8 home games, which will be played at NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, TX. The Outlaws first home game will be played on November 16th, 2008 against the Saskatoon Accelerators. For more information visit their official website at www.txoutlaws.com.
