
MAINEiacs Acquire Maxime Gratchev from Rimouski

Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs have made another trade in their quest to reclaim the President's Cup. The Lewiston MAINEiacs have cut a deal with the Rimouski Océanic to acquire left winger Max Gratchev and a 6th round pick in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2009 and a 2nd round pick in 2010. Head Coach and General Manager Ed Harding made the announcement Monday morning at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée during training camp.
"Max is a very versatile skater who can be used in any situation. He will give us a punch out front on offence" said Coach Harding.
Gratchev is a Massachusetts native who was born in Russia. He was drafted by the Québec Remparts in the 2nd round 19th overall in the 2004 QMJHL entry draft. In 39 games with Rimouski last season, Gratchev had 9 goals and 20 assists. In 2007, he was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 4th round, 106th overall in the 2007 NHL entry draft. Gratchev is expected to join the team at camp on Saturday.
