Three QMJHL officials selected for NHL's Rookie Tournament

BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 - Three Quebec Major Junior Hockey League officials have been selected by the National Hockey League to work the NHL Rookie Tournament which will be held in Kitchener, Ontario, from September 13 to 15.

Referees Francis Charron (Gatineau) and Jean Hébert (Dieppe) as well as linesman Matt MacPherson (Halifax) will suit-up for the three-day tournament which regroups four National Hockey League clubs: the Florida Panthers, the Ottawa Senators, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

There are currently fourteen former QMJHL officials (nine referees and five linesmen) employed by the NHL.

Referees: Stéphane Auger, Gord Dwyer, Eric Furlatt, Dave Jackson, Marc Joannette, Frédérick L'Écuyer, Chris Lee, François St-Laurent and Justin St-Pierre.

Linesmen: Pierre Champoux, Michel Cormier, Jean Morin, Jonny Murray and Pierre Racicot.
