IFL Awards Week Eight Players of the Week

Corpus Christi, Texas: The Intense Football League Office awarded the leagues outstanding Players of the Week, on Wednesday. Odessa Roughneck's Dennis Gile, Louisiana Swashbuckler's John Paul Jones, along with San Angelo Stampede Express's Jason Snell were recognized for their outstanding play during week 8 of the IFL season.

The Offensive Player of the Week was earned by Roughneck Quarterback Dennis Gile, leading his team to a 74-41 victory over the Frisco Thunder. He completed 16 of 32 passes for 243 yards. He also tossed 5 Touchdowns and ran for 2 himself. The 3-2 Roughnecks face the 2-3 CenTex Barracudas in Belton, Texas this Saturday night.

Defensive Player of the Week goes to Louisiana Swashbuckler John Paul Jones. Jones led the Swashbuckler defense with 6.5 tackles and 1 QB Sack. He also forced 2 fumbles in the win over the CenTex Barracudas, 82-21. This week the 5-0 Swashbucklers host the 1-3 Katy Ruff Riders in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

San Angelo Stampede Express Kick Returner Jason Snell earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Snell returned 5 kicks for 116 yards for an average of 23.2, in the loss against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads, 60-53. The 0-5 Stampede Express travel to Anchorage to play the 3-2 Alaska Wild this Monday night
